Parts of speech is assigned with its syntactic functions.
Actually Parts of Speech is a term in traditional grammar where words are classified according to their functions in sentences.
The idea that there are or should be eight categories of words originated in a list made by the grammarian DIONYSIUS THRAX in Alexandria of Greece nearly 100 years before the birth of Christ.
There are 8 parts of Speech.
Those are
1. Noun
2. Pronoun
3. verb
4. Adverb
5. Adjective
6. preposition
7. Conjunction
8. Interjection
